1 Sky Arkansas will hold a rally today at 11 a.m. outside Representative Vic Snyder’s office (1501 North University, Suite 150) to show support for the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 currently under consideration in the U.S. Congress. Please show your support by holding a sign and helping to pass out information regarding this important bill.

Your voice lets your representative know that there are concerned citizens — like you — who want a stronger bill to create millions of clean energy jobs and begin to tackle climate change. So now it’s time to get louder!

1Sky has been working with groups like MoveOn, Green for All, Oxfam and others to make this bill as strong as it can possibly be. We are trying to improve this bill in three key ways:

  1. Ensure More Clean Energy for America: By increasing the renewable energy and energy efficiency standards.
  2. Hold Polluters Accountable: By restoring authority to the EPA to mandate cleaner technology for power plants.
  3. Create More Clean Energy Jobs for America: Limit giveaways to polluting industries, like Big Oil and Dirty Coal, and instead bolster green job development and protection of vulnerable communities.

Why June 189h? Right now, several committees are working on this bill, and we expect a House floor vote by the end of June. This is the critical moment we’ve been working for in the House, so it’s time to make ourselves visible!

Please invite all your friends to this event. If you are not in Little Rock area, there are events on today in Jonesboro & Lowell. Go to 1 Sky Arkansas for more details: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=91565429453.
