As you may have already heard, U.S. Rep. Vic Snyder was the only one from Arkansas who voted in favor of the American Clean Energy and Security Act. Despite no votes from Representatives Mike Ross, Marion Berry, and John Boozeman, the bill passed the House and is now on its way to the Senate. The comprehensive energy and climate change bill includes a thoughtfully developed cap and trade system, renewable energy standard, and energy efficiency standard. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the cap and trade system would lower our carbon emissions by 80% from 2005 levels and by 2020 cost the average household only $175 a year. That’s about a postage stamp a day.
Sounds good, right? Well, we need your help. Pick up the phone. Call Congressman Snyder and thank him for his vote. Tell him he made the right choice for Arkansas.

Note from Nao: Representative Snyder’s constituents who watch too much Fox News have been lambasting him for supporting this historic climate change bill. I guess they don’t want energy independence and green jobs.
Call and thank Representative Snyder for supporting this bill! Tell him he made the right choice for his constituents and Arkansas!
