Wednesday To-Do: Tell Sen. Lincoln to Support Climate Change Bill! Attend Town Hall Meeting in Russellville!


Tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. in Russellville, Senator Blanche Lincoln will hold a town hall meeting to discuss current events and take questions from Arkansans. Attend Senator Lincoln Town Hall Meeting and show your support for clean energy and climate change legislation!

WHEN: Wednesday, September 2 – 12:30 – 2:30 p.m.

WHERE: Arkansas Tech University’s Doc Bryan Auditorium (1605 Coliseum Drive, Room 109, Russellville 72801)

WHY: Because Arkansas needs clean energy & green jobs!

The American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009 (ACES) is a landmark climate change legislation requires that the United States reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 17% by 2020. ACES also requires electricity providers to produce 20% of their electricity from renewable sources by 2020.

In June 2009, the House passed ACES. Currently, the bill is in the Senate, and Senators Blanche Lincoln and Mark Pryor are sitting on the fence.

1 Sky, Arkansas Wildlife Federation, Audubon Arkansas, Repower America, and Sierra Club plan to attend the event to show their support for clean energy policies.
