Green Giving: Homemade Jam & Jelly

So, how’s your holiday shopping coming along? Me? I buy very minimally for the holidays. Instead, I give homemade jam and jelly.

Making jam and jelly is very easy, especially if you use fruits that you froze when they were in season. This year, I plan to give blackberry jam that I made earlier this year and strawberry jam that I made a few weeks ago.

At the height of strawberry season, I didn’t have time to make jam. I also didn’t want to heat up the house by boiling jam for a long time.

Now that the weather is cold, I pulled out the strawberries from our chest freezer and made jam using Easy Strawberry Jam recipe. I plan to post the recipe to the Recipes section soon, so stay tuned!

This holiday season, go simple and green! Give homemade jam and jelly made with local ingredients!
