KTHV: Mountain Pine Students Travel to Gulf Coast to Document Oil Spill

A shameless plug for my workplace, but I think it’s a fascinating story.

Mary Smith, Education Director with Audubon Arkansas, led a group of Mountain Pine High School’s Environmental and Spatial Technology Lab students to the Gulf Coast to document the impact of BP oil spill. The six students and their teacher are from the small community of Mountain Pine near Hot Springs. They spent three days along the Gulf Coast, documenting clean up of brown pelicans and interviewing citizens affected by the oil spill.
