BREAKING NEWS: SWEPCO will NOT Go Back to AR Public Service Commission to Reapply for Turk Construction Permit

Today Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) filed a motion with the Arkansas Public Service Commission (APSC) expressing its intent of turning the John W. Turk coal plant into a merchant plant. SWEPCO will NOT go back to APSC to reapply for Turk’s construction permit.

In May 2010 the Arkansas Supreme Court rejected SWEPCO’s permit to construct the Turk plant. Click here for the Court’s opinion rejecting the Turk plant.
