Preservation Technique: How to Freeze Blueberries & Blackberries

BlueBlackSome posts are worth repeating.

I love blueberries and blackberries. Last year I froze several bags of them and made mixed berry smoothie, buckle, and ice cream throughout the year.

Freezing berries is SUPER easy. In fact, it’s easier than freezing strawberries. Here’s what you do:

  1. Sort, wash gently, and drain.
  2. Lay berries on baking sheets; freeze.
  3. Pack in containers, leaving 1/2 inch of headroom; seal.

Eat locally throughout the year! This weekend, grab some berries at the Certified Arkansas Farmers’ Market and freeze ’em!
