Arkansas Earth Day Foundation is accepting applications for membership on our Board of Directors. We invite you to join us!
We are seeking the inclusion of persons involved with businesses, organizations, and projects which contribute to or support environmental sustainability. We invite all interested individuals to send a letter of interest and resume/vita to the information provided below for consideration by the current board. In your letter, please answer the following questions: Why are you interested in furthering the vision of AEDF? What talents or skills would you bring to the Board? What fundraising strategies or connections will you bring to the Board? What do you hope to gain by serving on the Board? What role do you see AEDF playing in the community and how do you see its role in the future?
Terms are for two years and are unpaid. Preference is given to diversity (age, race, gender, location, expertise, etc.), commitment, availability, work ethic, and passion. No more than one member of the Board shall be from the same primary corporation, educational institution, religious, or other organization. Individuals with specific professional skills may be considered for inclusion as a non-voting Advisory Board Member. Read more about the organization at www.ArkansasEarthDay.org. Further details are available through the following documents: “Bylaws”, “Example Duties of Board Member”, and “Example Questions to Ask Yourself”.
Please send letter of interest and resume/vita electronically by August 15, 2010, to firstname.lastname@example.org. All applicants will receive a letter by September 3, 2010, indicating that they have or have not been accepted to serve as a member of the Arkansas Earth Day Foundation Board of Directors.
Thank you for your commitment to local sustainable initiatives, and to a clean and health Arkansas. In the future, if you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
