Tuesday To-Do: Walker Park Community Garden Public Information Meeting

Interested in growing your own food and cultivating new friendships?

An informational meeting about the Walker Park Community Garden will be held at the Fayetteville Senior Activity Center (945 S. College, Fayetteville) on Tuesday, November 2 at 6:30 p.m. Plans for the design and structure of the garden will be presented, with time for questions and suggestions from the community.

All are welcome to attend and learn about this sustaiable initiative bringing together gardeners of all ages and skill levels. Light refreshments will be served.

Join the Arkansas Sustainability Network (ASN) on Saturday, November 13 for a Preview Party and delicious locally-grown dinner celebrating the release of Arkansas’s very first year-round gardening calendar: GROW LOCAL.

ASN is excited about this beautiful calendar’s original illustrations by local artists Kimberly Kwee and Mark Barnes based on photos of gardens and farms from our community. It will also be an invaluable resource to help central Arkansas GROW LOCAL, with tips for gardening success contributed by local farmers and the ASN membership throughout each month.

GreenAR by the Day has an ad in the calendar, so don’t miss this opportunity to preview the calendar!

Dinner will be an Italian feast featuring local ingredients including: Spaghetti with Meatballs and/or Vegan Marinara, Penne with Tomato-Sausage Sauce, Vegetarian Butternut Squash Lasagna, Salad, Homemade Garlic Bread Sticks and Pumpkin Gingersnap Tiramisu. Wine and Diamond Bear beer will also be available.

You will have the opportunity to purchase the calendar at this Preview Party for a reduced price before ASN makes it available to the public. Take advantage and stock up for Christmas gifts!

The Preview Party begins at 6 p.m. on November 13th at Christ Episcopal Church (509 Scott Street) in Little Rock.

Tickets are $15 per person. Seating is limited. RSVP to reserve your seat!
