Pork & Asparagus with Ginger

  • 1 lb. boneless pork chop, sliced thin
  • ½ lb. asparagus, cut in 1-inch length
  • Ginger, grated
  • 3 tbsp. sake
  • 3 tbsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp. sesame oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 tbsp. vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp. water
  • Toasted sesame seeds (optional)
  1. In a medium bowl, marinade pork with sake, soy sauce, sesame oil, and black pepper.
  2. In a skillet heated with 1 tbsp. vegetable oil, cook pork on medium heat until lightly browned.
  3. Move pork to one side of the skillet.
  4. Add vegetable oil, salt, and asparagus on the other side of skillet; cook until asparagus is well coated with oil.
  5. Add 2 tbsp water and grated ginger; stir with pork and asparagus.
  6. Place a lid; steam cook for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Uncover and cook until the liquid evaporates.
  8. Adjust taste with salt; top with toasted sesame seeds, if desired, and serve immediately.
  9. Makes 4 servings.
