Spot on Green: CynerGreen

On December 16, CynerGreen held a ribbon cutting event to commemorate the grand opening of its first test store in Cabot, AR.

Danelle, Riley and Joe Hoffer, the brains behind CynerGreen. At age 11, Riley founded a nonprofit called CGKidz to help kids go green. She recently won the U.S. Green Building Council's Youth Leadership Award for her work.

CynerGreen is serious about being green. That's why I love them!

CynerGreen also has a kids line called CGKidz. I bought CynerGreen's sippy cup for a baby born in September. He started his life on a good note!

Did you know that the U.S. uses 17 million barrels of oil each year to manufacture water bottles? How about that the U.S. consumes 30 billion water bottles each year, and that only 14% of them are recycled? One Arkansas company is trying to change this situation, one bottle at a time. Headquartered in Cabot, CynerGreen manufactures, markets and sells eco-friendly, reusable, stainless steel water bottles. Joe and Danelle Hoffer founded the company in 2007 when Danelle, then working for a large hotel near Washington, DC, discovered the staggering number of plastic water bottles consumed by her workplace. What if hotels go bottle free? Voilà, CynerGreen was born.

Some of CynerGreen’s customers are Who’s Who of the American economy – QVC, Toys R Us, Microsoft, Staples, Marriott, American Express Publishing, Gaylord Hotels, and Terra Resort Group. CynerGreen has focused on high volume sales to maximize the environmental impact, but the recent years has seen the company entering individual retail store market. CynerGreen sells its products online and at The Green Corner Store in Little Rock.

The Hoffers are serious about being green. They didn’t buy anything to open the Cabot store. All of their products come in recycled cardboard boxes. They plan to spread their message to stamp out plastic bottles, opening up to 50 franchises in various states in the next 18-24 months. I was impressed!

I first learned about CynerGreen when I saw their products at The Green Corner Store. I confess, I thought they were Kleen Kanteens. Then, I realized that they’re better than Kleen Kanteens. They’re manufactured by an Arkansas company.

Now, Eddy and I are HUGE fans of CynerGreen. We use their reusable, stainless steel, BPA-free water bottles everyday. We also love their reusable shopping bags made of recycled plastic, carry up to 45 pounds, but fold into tiny sacks. I always have one in my purse so that I’ll never leave home without one.
